Perfect Smashburgers

Summer barbecues means burgers. Try this double smash burger.

You can make this burger on a flat top grill or inside on a skillet - it will be delicious either way. Feel free to freeze the burger patties until the day you want to use them.

The whole process

Start with burger patties:

  • Mix 32 oz of 90% lean ground beef, with a head of roasted garlic, and 1 stick of salted butter that was frozen and grated

  • Measure out the patties to 1/4 c, and roll into balls

  • Put them onto a tray pan and either freeze them for future use or refrigerate them until you're ready to grill

Chop the onions:

  • slice a yellow onion as thinly as possible for grilling

For the burger sauce:

  • Mix 1/4 c ketchup, 1/4 c mayo, 3 tbs yellow mustard, 1 dill pickle chopped finely and 1 tbs of paprika

Time to grill:

  • Place clumps of onion slices on the grill to match the amount of patties you want to make

  • Place burger patty balls onto the onion slices

  • Place parchment paper with burger press on top and press the patties onto the grill

  • Allow the patties to char, and then flip

  • Then place a slice of cheddar or American cheese on top

  • Toast your buns

Serve:

  • Allow cheese to melt and place the patties onto buns, layer the top bun with burger sauce

  • Enjoy
